The Core

The core the these transformers is of the mitered type arranged in a step-lap configuration, with a 45 degree cut, thus maximizing flux containment and minimizing leakages, when the magnetic flux has to transfer from on limb to the other. The steel chosen is the finest grain oriented silicone steel with a minimum denomination of M6-Laser scribed grain steel can also be used for highly demanding applications.

Every steel lamination that constitutes the core is insulate by a mineral insulator of high thermal resistance, thus minimizing the free circulation of eddy currents.
It is also to be noted that once assembled the core is sprayed by an anti-hygroscopic, high thermal resistance epoxy paint that conveys to the core high anti-corrosive properties and an exceptional thermal stability over time.

In all Copper Cast® cores are especially manufactured to reduce the no-load loss to a minimum and thus reduce noise levels in a very remarkable way.
